With over 30 years of combined education and admissions experience we assist parents in all aspects of the admissions process.
Catherine McManus has had a career in social work and education for the past 15 years. She has a Masters in Social Work with a New York State License, as well as a Masters in Childhood Education. Catherine has taught at both public and independent schools in New York City and has a range of experience from Pre-school through 8th grade. Over the past five years, Catherine worked in admissions in two highly regarded, co-educational, independent schools in Manhattan (east side and west side). Currently, Catherine provides early childhood and kindergarten enrichment, as well as support in the humanities through 8th grade. She also works with children who are applying to independent schools and public schools focusing on both academic and social skills. Catherine is an Associate Member of IECA, The Independent Educational Consultants Association.
Timna Sherman has a Masters in Elementary Education. She taught pre-K for four years. After this, Timna taught first grade for ten years at an independent school in Manhattan. She also held the role of reading specialist at a private school. One of her favorite accomplishments is teaching young children how to read. After becoming a mom, Timna has spent the past three years working in admissions in various capacities, assessing children and interviewing prospective parents. Currently Timna tutors pre-K through sixth grade students offering academic support, organization skills, and enrichment. She is a volunteer educator for children battling cancer.
